Criminal Justice

Criminal justice is the system of practices and institutions of governments directed at upholding social control, deterring and mitigating crime, sanctioning those who violate laws and delivering penalties and/or rehabilitation efforts. Legend’s Criminal Justice courses offer a balanced introduction to the three facets of the criminal justice system: policing, courts and corrections. Students
gain insight into criminal courts, security, police, and corrections operations. They identify the legal, social and technological challenges in the criminal justice field.

Legend High School partners with Arapahoe Community College (ACC) to bring college classes to Legend High School. The Criminal Justice pathway offers a variety of courses where students earn both high school and college credits.

Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO)

Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) are co-curricular groups that support students enrolled in career and technical education (CTE) programs. They provide a framework for students to develop leadership, technical, and teamwork skills, often through activities like conferences, competitions, and service projects. CTSOs are considered a vital part of a strong CTE program.

Students enrolled in the Criminal Justice Pathway at Legend High School are encourage to join the Legend Skills USA Chapter.
